What’s poppin’ in this week's customer spotlight series? Pop Shack! Pop Shack is a Florida-owned and operated ice pop, pop-up shop that keeps Floridians cool and refreshed in the heat.
In today’s customer spotlight series, Shelley Megathlin shares how she is making waves in her town of Jupiter, Florida with artisan ice pops that are made with simple, minimal, and most importantly, delicious ingredients. Let’s get the inside scoop!
Can you tell us a little about your business and how you got started in the ice pop industry?
Pop Shack is a dairy, peanut, soy, egg-free artisan ice pop business. We first launched in Jupiter, Florida on April 16, 2021, in the midst of the pandemic. I have been a stay-at-home mom with 2 children for 16 years and had been itching to do something for myself and start a business. Ice pops were random, but I had seen a photo of a cute girl with a gourmet pop and it instantly clicked — that’s what I’m going to do!
I worked on ice pop recipes for about a year and dropped off pops to neighbors to try to get an idea of taste by having them rank the ice pops from 1-10. Once they were mostly ranked an 8-10, I just went for it! It was very important for me to introduce local products that were allergy-friendly to most people so that everyone could enjoy them. And when I created the flavors, most became tropical beachy flavors.
What are some of the goals for Pop Shack?
Pop Shack is growing quickly but currently, we are a pop-up shop with carts that attend green markets, private parties, and really any event for that matter! We are sold in 6 different local shops and are now expanding to baseball fields for our local baseball recreational leagues. To say the least, we are very excited!
In the most recent news, I just bought a 1967 camper to convert and I am hopeful that this truck will make it easier to pop up at events in the future!
What makes Pop Shack stand out above the competition?
We stand out against competition because of our local tropical flavors, organic ingredients, and allergy-friendly recipes…plus they are darn yummy! We are also looking to use our pops to dip in chocolate with a variety of topping options — all dairy, gluten, and nut-free of course.

I chose Stomp because of the quality, speed, price, and of course because they are a smaller business. It was important for me to support another small business, so when I discovered Stomp, I knew I had to use them!!

As Pop Shack would say, they are “Popping like it's hot!” From a stay-at-home mom to ice pop entrepreneur, Shelley has successfully cooled down many thirsty pallets across Jupiter, and she doesn't plan on slowing down any time soon!
