Customer Spotlight: St. Blane's Hot Sauce

We’re excited to introduce you to St. Blane's Hot Sauce, a brand that’s bringing the heat with its carefully crafted, flavorful sauces. Founded by Blane Taylor, a chef with over two decades of culinary experience, St. Blane's Hot Sauce is all about delivering balanced flavors that go beyond just being spicy. Let’s dive into Blane’s journey and learn more about what makes St. Blane's Hot Sauce stand out in the competitive world of hot sauces.

Can you tell us a little about your business and how you got started in your industry?

I was a chef for two decades and have worn many hats in the industry, from managing steakhouse kitchens in DFW to owning a food trailer in San Marcos and being the co-chef/owner of the first BBQ restaurant in Santiago, Chile. I have since moved on from the industry and joined the more stable 9-5 life, but my passion and joy for cooking have never left. We started making a few of these sauces for family, friends, house parties, etc., before turning it into a side business. My wife and I have been partners in culinary creativity for years. While I might be the face of the company, she is equally integral to the process, contributing to both creation and taste. Together, we started making hot sauces well before selling them, using piquin bushes from our garden as inspiration for the original sauce. With our combined 30 years of restaurant experience, my wife and I craft flavorful and balanced sauces. We currently produce and sell nine varieties, catering to diverse palates and cooking styles. Our offerings include three types of habanero sauce, smoky morita, tangy mustard-based, and a universal Louisiana-style sauce made by fermenting piquin peppers.

What are some of the goals for St. Blane's Hot Sauce?

We want to be able to extend beyond the farmers markets and hit shelves in-store. We want to get to a point where we can help our community with donations and work opportunities. Donate money to schools so kids can eat lunch. Hire women who are on hard times and staying in women's shelters so they can get back on their feet easier and not have to work hard restaurant jobs with night shifts and weekend shifts while trying to care for young children.

What makes your hot sauce stand out above the competition?

FLAVOR! We have worked our best to craft sauces that are balanced in flavor and not just spicy for the sake of being spicy. We use simple ingredients and simple techniques to make the sauces. We don't lean on using funny/gimmicky names, images, labeling, or try to be comically spicy to garner attention, you don't have to ask what each sauce is because it's right there on the form of the bottle.

What made you choose Stomp for your custom hot sauce labels?

Originally it was because Stomp had the best pricing, and after getting my first order I quickly realized the product was also really good. On top of all that, I have had great interactions with the customer service squad; between updating orders to overnight or having proofs rushed through. All in all, my experiences have been very positive.

Adding Flavor to the Hot Sauce World

St. Blane's Hot Sauce is a testament to the power of flavor and quality in standing out in a crowded market. Blane Taylor and his wife have turned their culinary passion into a successful business that not only delights taste buds but also aims to give back to the community. We’re proud to be part of their journey, providing the hot sauce labels that help their products shine on the shelves.
