Customer Spotlight Series: Steel Hands Brewing

In just four short years, residents of the Carolinas have seen a huge shift in their local brewing scene. Steel Hands Brewing hit the ground running, it wasn't long before it became the largest brewery in South Carolina’s Midlands region. To find out how it happened, we asked owner Ashley Lambert to share her story and give us some tips for running a successful community brewery.

Can You Tell Us a Little About Steel Hands Brewing?

Steel Hands Brewing is the largest production brewery in the Midlands and it’s independently owned. We opened our first location on December 1st, 2018 in Cayce, South Carolina and now our 15,000-square-foot facility offers a 30-barrel production brewhouse, custom-designed taproom, full restaurant on-site, outdoor gathering space, and live entertainment stage. In May 2021, we opened a second location in Greensboro, NC.

Our second production facility, located next to the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, features a 20-barrel brewhouse with a 12,000-barrel/year capacity, custom-designed taproom, retail area, a stage for live music, event space, and outdoor gathering space for the community to enjoy.

Our brewery is producing quality craft beers that will be kegged and canned for North Carolina distribution and sales in the taproom. Our story is inspired by the surrounding hard-working industries that have shaped the founding principles of commitment to quality products. We are an advocate for the local movement and we aspire to support the community and its organizations.

Where Will You Take Steel Hands Brewing From Here?

We want to become the premier brewery/taproom destination across the Southeast Region and be recognized as a leader in the brewing community. Our philosophy forges the development of a production brewery that utilizes the latest brewing technologies, production scale, and experienced brewers to produce a variety of great-tasting beers for both local and regional customers.

What Do You Think Makes Steel Hands Brewing So Successful?

The experience. We're proud of the destination breweries we've built in both Cayce, SC and Greensboro, NC. Moreover, we have a strong commitment to supporting the surrounding communities. We wanted to support special needs animals so we created Steel Paws Wheat Ale and held a fundraiser event. A portion of every sale goes toward supporting canine initiatives.

It’s true! Between live music, charity drives, and festivals, Steel Hands Brewing always has something going on and has mastered the art of community engagement.

What Made You Choose Stomp for Your Printed Products?

The quality, paired with the competitive pricing and quick turnaround times. Jon Bernard has been exceptional and very easy to work with and has always met our deadlines.

Thanks to their custom packaging and designs, Steel Hands Brewery products are a standout on shelves across the Carolinas and the greater Southeast! We can’t wait to see what’s next for one of the fastest-growing breweries around.
