Since 1996, Zeppoli’s Restaurant & Wine Shop has been serving up fresh, homemade Italian cuisine and carefully curated wines in Blacksburg, Virginia. Owners Cody Thompson and Chris Mullens set out to create an authentic Italian dining experience that blended tradition with their own creative touch. How did Zeppoli’s get started?
Zeppoli’s is an Italian Restaurant & Wine Shop located in Blacksburg, Virginia. Owners, Cody Thompson and Chris Mullens create a homemade Italian menu paired with curated wines that are wonderful for dinner or any event. We aspire to bring a cutting-edge culinary experience, service, and hospitality to Blacksburg, VA.
Opened in October of 1996, the same week of National Pasta Day, Zeppoli’s owners wanted to create an Italian restaurant that featured something they felt was lacking in many of the chain-type restaurants—fresh, made-from-scratch, real Italian cuisine by using both traditional recipes and some of their own creations.
What are some of Zeppoli’s goals as a business?
We believe in supporting small, local businesses. That is why we team up with local businesses such as Blacksburg Bagels and Exper-T’s to bring our customers fresh breads and local merchandise. It is just as important to give back to those who support us. Our monthly benefits nights help us support local and national organizations.
What makes Zeppoli’s stand out from other restaurants?
This is home. Being in the heart of Virginia Tech, we have the pleasure of catering football tailgates, serving VT sports teams, and hosting fundraisers for school clubs and organizations.
Our team at Zeppoli’s is made up of friendly and dedicated workers who strive to bring our guests the best experience. In 2017, we added a patio and expanded the catering and private event operations of the business. We now offer full-service, off-site, and on-site catering, as well as event spaces for great local organizations, families, and businesses.
Why did you choose Stomp for your restaurant club cards?
