Customer Spotlight: Haffs Hot Sauce
Delicious Hot Sauces With Dad-Joke Labels
With so many hot sauces available today, it can be hard for brands to stand out in both taste and presentation. But Bryan Mehaffey found a secret ingredient when he created Haffs Hot Sauce: some saucy dad jokes.
Using Stomp’s custom hot sauce labels, each bottle features punny jokes and original artwork that’s as unique as the flavor profiles inside.
We’re proud to cast a spotlight on Bryan’s growing brand and how his flavor-forward batches, original label art, and dad-joke personality help Haffs stand out.
Hot Sauce From the Heart
Founded in New Philadelphia, Ohio, Bryan initially started Haffs Hot Sauce as a way to cope with the loss of his father. Now his small-batch hot sauces have become almost a full-time business. Specializing in unique flavors, like pickle hot sauce and cranberry fusions, paired with lovable dad jokes, Haffs has built a brand with plenty of personality.
“Our flavor-forward sauces have heart, soul, and corny dad style humor in every bottle.”
Bryan Mehaffey, Haffs Hot Sauce
As a self-proclaimed “saucemallier,” Bryan focuses on flavor rather than heat for his hot sauces, and cooks with both all-natural and local ingredients.
“We make kitchen-grade sauces, not weapons-grade sauces,” he jokes. Haffs still has sauces that pack a punch, but customers do not have to chase absurd heat levels to enjoy them.
Haffs leans into the joke with a minimal white label for Boring Sauce for Boring People.
The Killer Pickle label shows how bold artwork can give each flavor its own shelf personality.
Haffs is not afraid to stir up some fun. Their award-winning “Boring Sauce for Boring People” is made from a more traditional hot sauce recipe and plays up the theme with a clean, intentionally plain label.
How Haffs Uses Playful Branding and Creative Labels
Quirky label designs and cheeky hot sauce names are also part of Haffs’ appeal. Bryan uses Stomp’s square waterproof labels for the hot sauce bottles, printing artwork that he proudly commissions from local artists.
From a kaiju-inspired “Killer Pickle” design to humorous product descriptions, Haffs’ labels add a playful and personal touch to every hot sauce bottle. Choosing Stomp’s durable labels was a natural match for the kind of packaging that needs to look good in kitchens, at events, online, and on store shelves.
“Stomp has amazing quality, pricing, and customer service.”
