Adding a Background

Backgrounds set the foundation for your design. In the Stomp design tool, you can use a solid color, a photo, a stock image, or uploaded artwork as your background.

How to Add a Background

  • Select the Background option from the left menu. This option may not be available on every product.
  • Choose whether you want to use a color fill or a photo fill.
  • For a photo background, upload your own artwork or choose an image from the stock image library.
  • For a color background, choose your own color or use the eye dropper tool to match a color from another part of your design.
  • Apply the background to the canvas.
  • Make any final adjustments so your text, logo, or artwork stays easy to see.

When to Use a Background

Use a background when you want a full-color design, a photo-based layout, a textured look, or a consistent color behind your text and graphics. Backgrounds are especially helpful when your design needs a clear base instead of leaving the product surface blank.

Things to Keep in Mind

Backgrounds affect the entire design area, so make sure important text, logos, and graphics stand out against the color or image you choose. High-contrast designs are easier to read, especially on smaller stickers, labels, and other printed products.
