Removing a Background

Sometimes you want the image, but not the background that came with it. Use the background removal tool to isolate the main subject of your artwork so it fits more cleanly into your design.

How to Remove a Background

  • Select the image on your canvas.
  • In the editing toolbar, choose Remove Background.
  • The tool will detect and remove the background from the selected image.
  • Review the edges of your image before moving on with your design.

How to Toggle the Background On or Off

  • After the background is removed, a toggle option will appear in the toolbar.
  • Use the toggle to compare the original image with the background-removed version.
  • If you change your mind, switch the background back on and keep editing.

Things to Keep in Mind

Background removal works best when there is clear contrast between the subject and the background. Images with busy backgrounds, soft edges, shadows, or low resolution may need a little extra review after the background is removed.

For the cleanest result, start with the highest-resolution image you have and check small details like thin lettering, fine lines, and detailed edges before ordering.
