Highlighting Text

Highlight is the sixth slider that can appear on your text bar, but it can only appear if your text doesn’t have a drop shadow or a curve.Β

You can change the color and size of the highlight on your text with the box and slider, but you can further customize it when you click on the small gear tab next to the word Highlight.

  • The toggle at the very top of the page indicates if you want the highlight to Fill the entire text box, or if you want it to Fit only around the text that’s inside it
  • Fill, stroke and weight options are the same as how they work for text
    • Fill is the overall color of the highlight
    • Stroke is the color of the border around the highlight
    • Weight is how large or small that Stroke border is
  • Spread options allow you to customize the overall shape of the highlight
    • Constrain keeps the proportions of the highlight consistent through size changes which you can toggle that on and off with the small check box next to Constrain.
    • The horizontal and vertical sliders adjust how wide or tall the highlight is respectively
    • Roundness changes how rounded the corners are
    • Transparency is the same as the Text option, adjusting how see-through or opaque your highlight is

If you decide you don’t like the highlight or just want to start fresh, you can always click the Remove button at the very bottom of the menu to remove it completely.

Things to Keep in Mind

You can use the highlight to create a bordered backdrop for your text, so don’t be afraid to play around with the settings and the colors to get it just right for your product and branding.

Highlight works well for sale notes, flavor names, scent names, warnings, short calls to action, or any text that needs extra contrast.Β

Stomper Tip: Use it sparingly so the most important text gets attention first.
