Text can do a lot of work in a custom design. Use the font and styling tools to add product names, ingredients, business details, QR code labels, event information, short slogans, or other text that needs to look clean on custom stickers, labels, decals, and printed products.
To edit text, select the text box on your canvas. The font, formatting, and styling options will appear in the editing sidebar.
How to Choose a Font
- Click the text you want to change.
- Open the Text menu.
- Select a new font from the list.
Use decorative fonts for short text, like product names, logos, or simple display phrases. Use simpler fonts for ingredients, instructions, contact information, product details, and anything customers need to read quickly.
How to Upload a Custom Font
You can upload your own font file in two ways:
- Drag and drop your font file straight from your computer onto the canvas.
- Or, open the Text menu, click Upload, and select your font file using the file finder.
Accepted font file types include OTF, TTF, and WOFF.
How to Style Your Text
After selecting your text, use the sidebar options to adjust how it looks in your design.
- Text color: Click the Fill square in the sidebar and choose a color.
- Outline: Use Stroke to choose the outline color, then use Weight to make the outline thinner or thicker.
- Font size: Enter a specific number under Font Size, or move the slider to adjust the size.
- Alignment: Use the alignment options to position your text along the left, right, top, bottom, vertical center, or horizontal center of the canvas.
You can also move text manually. Hover over the text box until the move cursor appears, then drag the text where you want it on the canvas.
How to Use Text Styling Sliders
The sidebar includes sliders that let you fine-tune your text:
- Transparency: Adjusts how see-through or opaque your text is.
- Letter Spacing: Adjusts how close together or far apart your letters are.
- Line Spacing: Adjusts how close together or far apart your lines are.
- Drop Shadow: Adds the appearance of a shadow behind your text.
- Curve: Adjusts how straight or curved your text is.
- Highlight: Adds a box around your text.
If you make changes you do not want to keep, click Reset at the bottom of the sidebar to return the text to its original styling. Reset applies to all slider settings for that text, not just one individual slider.
Things to Keep in Mind
Readable text matters, especially on smaller stickers, labels, and packaging details. For the clearest result, use strong contrast between your text and background. Dark text on a light background, or light text on a dark background, is usually easiest to read.
Before ordering, check small text, thin outlines, curved text, and decorative fonts carefully. If something is hard to read on screen, it may be hard to read on the finished product too.
Highlight cannot be used at the same time as Drop Shadow or Curve. If you turn on one of those settings, the Highlight option will disappear.
