Align To Canvas
Aligning your text to your canvas helps with where your text is placed in the grand scheme of the design. You can easily align it to the left, right, vertically, horizontally, along the bottom and along the top of the design. Simply click through the options to see what works for your design.
You can also always move it around manually by hovering over the text box until a cross of arrows appears, then drag it to where you like.
Customization Sliders
As you move down the sidebar, there are six sliders that help you format your text even further.
- Transparency: How see-through or opaque your text is
- Letter Spacing: How close together or far apart your letters are
- Line Spacing: How close together or far apart your lines are
- Drop Shadow: Create the illusion of a shadow under your text
- Curve: How straight or curved your text is
- Highlight: Creates a box surrounding your text
If you end up making changes you ultimately don’t like, you can always click the Reset button at the bottom to reset the font to its original settings. This will reset all of the sliders, not just one individual one, so keep that in mind before you click.
Things to Keep in Mind
Contrast is key when it comes to legible text. For best readability, use strong contrast between your text and background. Dark text on a light background, or light text on a dark background, is usually easiest to read.
Highlight cannot be used at the same time as Drop Shadow or Curve. If you turn on one of those settings, the Highlight option will disappear.
